At Hutsadin Elephant Foundation we provide a better, safer, and more caring life for our elephant family that have been rescued from circuses, logging, mistreatment, injury and ill-health. When you visit us, on entering the Foundation you will notice that there are no walls, fences or gates and the area is completely open and next to a busy main road. Chains are necessary at the Foundation for the safety of the elephants and visitors. Elephants are large and potentially dangerous animals and chains are an important and responsible aspect of managing elephants in a traditional way in South East Asia where there are no enclosures to safely contain the elephants. We offer our visitors a range of activities that promote a close interaction with our elephants in a safe and enjoyable environment, for both elephants and visitors. Your support will help us to obtain secure land and bathing pools for our elephant family to enjoy.

Historically a thriving fishing community, Fisherman’s Village in Bophut is now a popular walking street, with rustic shophouses converted into eateries, shops, beach bars, and hotels. Restaurants here specialize in seafood, with both local and international offerings on the menu. Things kick up a notch during the weekly night market which features stalls serving cocktails, sweets, and street food from around the world. Get yourself a classic Thai stirfry and homemade coconut ice cream for dessert. Be sure to browse the handicrafts and trinkets—soft beach kaftans and bowls carved from coconuts make great souvenirs. – Namaste Thailand
